We are fortunate to have obtained a supply of one of the heavy duty “Rolls Royces” of speaker systems. The ELECTROVOICE (R) SH/DH series combo towers. We have the SH18 ER, an 18″ reverse scoop horn loaded design sub-woofer that is fat fat fat. It can be hired as a stand alone unit, or a stand alone pair (if you want to drill through the floor). We also hire the complete combo tower which consists of the SH18ER for low range, the SH10ER for mids and a super high efficiency 2″ EV DH2 horn for the highs. This speaker assembly has two great things going for it. The sound quality speaks for itself, ELECTROVOICE is hardly known for second rate speakers! But…. the efficiency of the system is phenominal, averaging out at around 106dB/watt! Four towers being supplied with 3000 watts of input total will power up a 1000 person outdoor gig with ease! Obviously these speakers suit the pro market.

The WHARFEDALE EVPX-215 Pro is a 500W RMS 1000W music power dual 15″ and advanced eliptical horn speaker cabinet. We use a pair of these towers quite regularly for live band mixing in small to medium size venues (up to 300-350 people). They have a nice fat bottom end sometimes eliminating the need for a seperate sub-woofer. The 1″ eliptical liquid cooled horn can deliver very bright highs. On board electronic speaker protection. We have found this speaker tower very good value for medium power band mixes and for DJ rigs.

WARFEDALE EVPS-18 SUB-WOOFER

400W RMS 800W peak music power 4 ohm sub-woofer. Thumping big 18″ woofer that is clean down as low as 25Hz. We have used this bin very sucessfully for Karaoke shows, DJ “back end” assembies, small to medium size live band mixes, higher end party and function packages etc. This bin has a built in passive cross-over at 200Hz, so it can be driven with an 8 Ohm main cabinet (total load 2.7 Ohms) without the need of an active cross over unit or seperate amp.

The WHARFEDALE EVPX-12 is a compact 12″ x 1″ eliptical horn cabinet that is very suitable for smaller corporate set-ups, small pa assemblies and smaller outdoor uses where high fidelity is needed. A nice feature on the EVPX series of speakers is an inbuilt 4dB trebble boost, and there is on board electronic speaker protection. Power rating (per box) 150 watts RMS 500 watts peak music power.
