Hire Terms

Like all businesses in the hire industry we have a standard policy on hire terms and conditions. Just like hiring a car, or a piece of machinery, it is important the customers know the hire terms and conditions beforehand.

We never want to see you unexpectedly out of pocket because something was overlooked, or not understood. So please take the time to read the information following:-

Important Note:- We do not require a refundable deposit on hired equipment. A refundable deposit is essentially an “insurance” against damage etc, but there are other means available to recover legitimate costs for excessive damage such as the NSW Small Claims Tribunals, however we always hope this happens only in very rare circumstances. In most circumstances, our insurance covers accidental damage or theft from premises or locked vehicles, and if so covered, the maximum claim we would normally take against a client would be the recovery of a $400 insurance excess.

** DRY HIRE customers need to take the most careful note of our hire terms because under a dry hire agreement the goods are fully in the custody of the hirer from the time they are taken away to the time they are returned. In the case of delivery and take away hire, or supervised hire there is a lesser degree of responsibility on the customer because the goods are either wholly or partly in the custody of the business for some part, or all of the hire period.

Our “short term” hire pricing period is 24 hours calculated from the time the hirer takes custody of the goods. “Short term” hire rates are charged for one day (24 hrs) hire. If a customer wants to hire equipment for more than one day, but less than fourteen consecutive days, each consectutuve day is charged at 75% of the one day hire rate. E.g. an item hires for $80 a day all inclusive. If a customer requires this item for three days, the hire charge will be $80 + $60 + 60 = $200 including G.S.T of $20.00. A saving of $40 over the extended hire period.

** Because of increases in overheads, particularly present fuel prices flowing on through the economy we have had unfortunately, to raise the consecutive day rate from 66%. We hope we can lower our consecutive day rate again very soon. **

Hire in excess of fourteen days (for example extended term installation, tours) is by negotiation.

Following is our standard dry hire agreement:

By signing this hire agreement the hirer agrees to all the terms and conditions of the hire contract and any other conditions Ace Quality Audio Hire may require.

(1) The contracted hire period expires 24 hours from the commencement time stated on the agreement for single day hire, or any multiple of 24 hours for hire periods longer than one day. Goods may be returned without accruing additional costs up to the expiry time. Ace Quality Audio prefers clients if possible, to return goods by 12 noon on the hire expiry date for administrative purposes, and for the convenience of other clients who may have a standing order on the same goods. LATE FEES WILL BE CHARGED AT $10 PER HALF HOUR FOR THE FIRST TWO (2) HOURS THE GOODS ARE OVERDUE, AND AN EXTRA FULL DAY HIRE CHARGE FOR PERIODS BEYOND THAT TIME, AND ACCRUING EACH 24 HOURS THE GOODS ARE OVERDUE.
(2) It is important that the client understands that if he/she does not have suitable public liability insurance the client could be exposing themselves to the full risk of any accident or misadventure to persons or property resulting from the installation, use of, or dismantling of the hired goods.
(3) It is important that the hirer reads, understands, or asks questions about any point/s that are unclear to them in the hire contract that is either attached or overleaf.
(4) Ace Quality Audio Hire takes all reasonable steps to ensure any hired goods are in marketable condition when offered for hire. However if the client does not check, or ask for the equipment to be checked prior to taking custody, Ace Quality Audio Hire may not be responsible for any failures occurring after the client takes custody of the goods.
